Habitat: Mountain Germander can be found all over the world in mountain areas, but it is a very rare and valuable herb so that the amount of its yearly collection is protected and limited by local environmental authorities. Grows in dry places on poor soils.
Description: Mountain Germander is a semi shrub. It has numerous pale yellow flowers on miniature, dense carpets of leaves that stay closely to the stones.

Medicinal use:
There is an old folklore belief in Balkans, which has recent scientific background, that Mountain germander has extraordinary properties to help recuperate and regain health and strength back after a longer illness, heavy physical or mental exhaustion or any other life situation which might have compromised ones well being. Mountain Germander  is  widely used  as  diuretic, stomachic, analgesic and antispamodic agent, and  also  has  antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory  and  antioxidative activity. Tea of Mountain Germander is used for spasms and blood purification. It is also useful in treatment of rheumatism.
